The Flamingo Las Vegas is recognized by the bright pink color scheme and the cursive neon script that illuminates its exterior. Opened on December twenty-sixth, nineteen forty-six, this resort is the oldest one still operating on the Las Vegas Strip. While it is often associated with the gangster Benjamin “Bugsy” Siegel, the project was originally conceived by Billy Wilkerson, a Hollywood nightclub owner who sought to bring a modern, upscale resort to the desert.
