Heinz Memorial Chapel

The Heinz Memorial Chapel is identified by its soaring spire, which reaches two hundred fifty-six feet into the sky, and its exterior walls of Indiana limestone. Designed by architect Charles Klauder in a French Gothic Revival style, this nondenominational sanctuary sits on the University of Pittsburgh campus. It was built between nineteen thirty-three and nineteen thirty-eight to honor Anna Margaretta Heinz, the mother of the H.J. Heinz Company founder.
