Linda's Tavern

Linda's Tavern sits at seven oh seven East Pine Street, identifiable by the taxidermy buffalo head mounted above the bar and a woodsy, mountain-cabin interior. Opened in February nineteen ninety-four, the tavern was a joint venture between local clothing shop owner Linda Derschang and Bruce Pavitt and Jonathan Poneman, the founders of the Sub Pop record label. They modeled the space after dive bars they admired in Chicago, aiming to create a comfortable, low-key hangout for neighborhood musicians and residents.
