The Museum of History & Industry occupies a historic Naval Reserve Armory building, a fifty-thousand-square-foot structure built in nineteen forty-two as a Works Progress Administration project. You can identify the site by its lakeside position at the southern tip of Lake Union, where the building sits within Lake Union Park. During World War Two, the facility served as a site for advanced naval training, and its top floor still features a gallery designed to mimic a ship’s bridge for those recruits.
