Chihuly Garden and Glass

museum

Chihuly Garden and Glass is distinguished by its central Glasshouse, a forty-foot tall steel and glass structure that houses an expansive, one-hundred-foot-long sculpture made of over one thousand individual red, orange, yellow, and amber glass elements. Located within Seattle Center on the former site of the Fun Forest amusement park, this exhibition showcases the work of Tacoma-born artist Dale Chihuly. It opened to the public on May twenty-first, two thousand twelve, as a result of a partnership between the Wright family, who own the neighboring Space Needle, and the artist himself.
