Rachel the Piggy Bank is a five hundred and fifty pound bronze sculpture located beneath the iconic clock and sign at the corner of Pike Street and Pike Place. Dedicated on August seventeenth, nineteen eighty-six, the sculpture was designed by Whidbey Island artist Georgia Gerber to serve as a public fundraiser for the Pike Place Market Foundation. Gerber modeled the sow after a prize-winning pig that lived on her island and won the nineteen eighty-five Island County Fair.
