Pacific Science Center

The Pacific Science Center is defined by its five soaring white arches, which stand over a courtyard of pools and pre-cast concrete buildings. Originally constructed as the United States Science Pavilion for the nineteen sixty-two Century twenty-one Exposition, the complex was designed by architect Minoru Yamasaki. He intended the site to feel like a serene oasis, drawing inspiration from Gothic cathedrals and Japanese gardens to create a space of reflection.
