Seattle Center Armory Food & Event Hall

The Seattle Center Armory is a poured-in-place concrete structure defined by its thick, fortress-like walls and the decorative concrete eagles perched above its north entrance. Completed in nineteen thirty-nine to house the one hundred forty-sixth Field Artillery and their half-ton tanks, the building was designed to be near-impenetrable. Its basement still holds the marks of a former firing range, and the space was once intended to contain a training pool for recruits.
