The Seattle Great Wheel rises one hundred seventy-five feet above the surface of Elliott Bay, where it stands at the edge of Pier Fifty-seven. It is the only Ferris wheel in the United States built over water, extending forty feet out beyond the pier’s end. When the wheel opened in June twenty twelve, it became the tallest Ferris wheel on the West Coast.
