Enghaveparken

park garden

Enghaveparken is defined by a rigid, rectangular neoclassical layout that pairs historic nineteen twenties design with modern, heavy-duty flood defenses. Opened in nineteen twenty-nine, the park was originally commissioned by city architect Poul Holsøe to provide a green sanctuary for the densely packed working-class district of Vesterbro. Its structure features symmetrical gardens, brick pergolas, and a bandstand designed by a young Arne Jacobsen, one of his few works in a neoclassical style.
