The Conservatoire national supérieur d’art dramatique occupies the former site of the theater of the Menus-Plaisirs du Roi, a building identifiable by the Italian-style theater hidden within its historic walls. Since eighteen eleven, when architect François-Jacques Delannoy completed the theater here, the site has been dedicated to the formal study of performance.
