The Théâtre national de l’Opéra-Comique is marked by an ornate facade of columns and statues overlooking the Place Boieldieu. Founded in seventeen fourteen during the reign of Louis the Fourteenth, this institution is one of the oldest in France. It resides in the third building to bear the name Salle Favart, inaugurated in eighteen ninety-eight.
