Parc de Belleville

At one hundred and eight meters above sea level, the Parc de Belleville is the highest public park in Paris. Its most recognizable feature is the long cascade fountain that stretches one hundred meters down the hillside in a series of shallow, linked pools. Inaugurated in nineteen eighty-eight, the park was designed by architect François Debulois and landscaper Paul Brichet to provide greenery in an area previously filled with dense, working-class housing and winding, narrow streets.
