Marché aux Fleurs de Paris

The Marché aux Fleurs Reine-Elizabeth-II is defined by its series of green wrought-iron pavilions, topped with glass roofs, that occupy the Place Louis-Lépine on the Île de la Cité. Founded by a Napoleonic decree in eighteen oh eight, this site is the oldest flower market in Paris still in operation. The current metal structures date primarily to nineteen twenty-four, serving as a permanent greenhouse that protects plants and flowers from the elements in the heart of the city.
