Hôtel de Ville

The Hôtel de Ville features a sprawling, ornate Renaissance Revival façade, which stretches along the Right Bank of the Seine with hundreds of statues of notable Parisians and allegorical figures decorating the exterior. This building functions as the city hall of Paris, housing the headquarters of the municipality and the office of the mayor. While municipal government has occupied this site since thirteen fifty-seven, the structure currently standing there was reconstructed between eighteen seventy-four and eighteen eighty-two.
