The Hôtel Martinez is a seven-story, hundred-meter-long building on Boulevard de la Croisette, characterized by its symmetrical white Art Deco façade and rows of blue wrought-iron balconies. It stands on the site of a former villa called La Coquette, which the Italian businessman Emmanuel Martinez purchased in nineteen twenty-seven. He commissioned architect Charles Palmero to design a palace hotel, which was completed in a mere fourteen months and inaugurated on February twentieth, nineteen twenty-nine.
