Maibaum Viktualienmarkt

The Maypole, or Maibaum, rises above the stalls of the Viktualienmarkt as a tall, slender column painted in the traditional Bavarian colors of blue and white. It is adorned with six groups of carved figures depicting local scenes, including brewery teams, market women, and traditional musicians, all designed in nineteen ninety-two by Paul Ernst Rattelmüller.
