Holy Church of Saint Nicholas Rangavas

The Holy Church of Saint Nicholas Rangavas is a compact, eleventh-century structure defined by its cloisonné masonry, where stones are framed by distinctive red bricks. Located on Prytaneiou Street in the Plaka neighborhood, the church was originally part of an estate owned by the aristocratic Rangavas family. Its architecture follows the traditional four-columned, cross-in-square Byzantine design, topped by an Athenian-style dome.
