museum

The Maria Callas Museum occupies a three-storey neoclassical building at forty-four Mitropoleos Street, distinct for its position directly opposite the Athens Cathedral. Inaugurated in October twenty twenty-three, it is the first institution in the world dedicated entirely to the life and work of the legendary soprano. The collection contains over one thousand items, including stage costumes, personal jewelry, letters, and rare recordings, gathered by the Municipality of Athens starting in the year two thousand at an auction in Paris.
