The Vallianeio Megaron is defined by a distinctive, wide double marble staircase that sweeps up to a massive portico. This neoclassical structure on Panepistimiou Street was designed by the Danish architect Theophil Hansen and completed in nineteen oh three. It serves as the westernmost anchor of the Athenian Trilogy, a trio of monumental buildings that includes the Academy of Athens and the original University of Athens building nearby.
