Mehrangarh Fort

Mehrangarh Fort rises four hundred feet above the skyline of Jodhpur, its massive sandstone walls merging directly into the rocky hill of Bhakurcheeria. Founded in fourteen fifty-nine by Rao Jodha, the fort is defined by fortifications that reach up to thirty-six meters in height and twenty-one meters in width. These walls were built to be impenetrable, and the complex behind them houses a series of palaces known for their delicate stone carvings and intricate latticework.
