Ghanta Ghar Jodhpur

The Ghanta Ghar of Jodhpur is a towering, five-tiered structure made of locally quarried red sandstone, topped with a prominent dome. Built under the direction of Maharaja Sardar Singh between the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, it stands as a central monument in the old city. The tower rises from a broad square base, encircled by an octagonal stone railing that forms a roundabout in the heart of the marketplace.
