Jaswant Thada

museum

Jaswant Thada is a monument built from thin, polished sheets of white Makrana marble that emit a warm glow when struck by sunlight. Constructed in eighteen ninety-nine by Maharaja Sardar Singh to honor his father, Maharaja Jaswant Singh the Second, the structure serves as a memorial and the traditional cremation ground for the rulers of Jodhpur. It sits near the base of the city's main fort, surrounded by tiered gardens and a quiet lake.
