Rao Jodha Desert Rock Park sits at the base of the massive sandstone walls of Mehrangarh Fort. This seventy-two-hectare landscape is defined by its rugged, volcanic rhyolite rock formations that date back some seven hundred million years. While the fort has dominated these cliffs since the fifteenth century, the ground below became a neglected wasteland filled with invasive thorn shrubs known as Bavalia.
