It stands in the heart of Jodhpur as the formal gateway to the Sardar Market, a sprawling bazaar that radiates outward into a maze of narrow, bustling lanes. Built during the reign of Maharaja Sardar Singh between eighteen ninety-eight and nineteen eleven, the gate bears his name and was designed to link the city’s royal heritage with its daily commercial life.
