Chand Pole Gate

Chand Pole Gate is one of the original entry points built into the historic wall, or parkota, that once encircled the city of Udaipur. Along with six other major gates, it served as a primary gateway for travelers and trade entering the kingdom during the seventeenth century. The gate takes its name from the Hindi word for moon, and local tradition suggests that the full moon rises directly above this position.
