The Musamman Burj is a multi-storied octagonal tower made of white marble, distinguished by its delicate inlay of precious stones and a dome topped with gilded copper. Built by Emperor Shah Jahan between sixteen thirty-one and sixteen forty, this pavilion sits where the outer wall of Agra Fort turns toward the east. The structure features open verandas, carved fountains, and marble lattices that once allowed the royal household to look out toward the Yamuna River.
