Shri Mankameshwar Temple, Agra

The Shri Mankameshwar Temple is marked by a sacred Shiva Linga that is entirely encased in silver. Located in the Rawatpara area near the Agra Fort, this site is considered one of the oldest temples in the city. While Agra is often defined by its Mughal-era monuments, this temple represents a much older spiritual tradition that predates those structures. The name Mankameshwar itself comes from the Sanskrit words for heart and the Lord of desires, reflecting the long-standing belief that prayers offered here by sincere devotees are granted.
