Valle delle Ferriere

The Valle delle Ferriere is a deep, forested ravine carved into the Lattari Mountains, defined by the persistent flow of the Canneto River. This gorge preserves a distinct microclimate that supports rare, ancient plant life, including the giant chain fern, a species that has survived here since the pre-glacial period. Protected by high cliffs from cold northern winds, the valley maintains a damp, temperate environment that starkly contrasts with the dry Mediterranean heat of the surrounding Amalfi Coast.
