The ruins of the San Eustaquio Basilica are marked by three cylindrical apses that rise high above the rocky plateau of Monte Aureo, near the village of Pontone. Constructed in the twelfth century, this massive Romanesque structure once served as a primary religious center for the powerful D'Afflitto family, who commissioned the building directly in front of their own fortified residence.
