The Saracen Tower is a distinct square structure built from local limestone that rises about twenty meters above the rocky coastline. It belongs to a series of fortifications constructed between the ninth and sixteenth centuries to guard the Amalfi Coast. These towers served as a warning system, designed to protect the local population and vital trade routes from frequent raids by pirates.
