Cathedral of St Andrew Apostle

The Cathedral of Saint Andrew the Apostle dominates the Piazza del Duomo with a grand staircase of sixty-two stone steps leading to its entrance. Its facade, rebuilt in eighteen ninety-one, features a bold pattern of striped marble and intricate stonework that draws on Arab-Norman, Byzantine, and Gothic influences. A bell tower, constructed between the twelfth and thirteenth centuries, sits beside the main structure, topped by a cluster of smaller towers decorated with brightly colored majolica tiles.
