北海道大学ポプラ並木

The Poplar Avenue is a long, narrow path flanked by towering Lombardy poplar trees that reach toward the sky in a straight, uniform line. These trees were first planted in nineteen hundred and three by students of the Sapporo Agricultural College, originally to serve as windbreaks for the university farm. Over the years, the avenue grew into a distinctive landmark of the campus, characterized by the slender, tall silhouette of the poplars against the Sapporo landscape.
