Hokkaido University Ginkgo Avenue

This avenue is defined by seventy ginkgo trees that line both sides of the street for three hundred and eighty meters. The trees, which replace maples and cherries originally planted on this path, have stood in their current arrangement since approximately nineteen thirty-nine. They reach from the campus gate toward the center of the grounds, creating a canopy that turns a brilliant, solid gold in late autumn.
