Tamon-yagura Turret

The Tamon-yagura Turret stands out as a long, barrack-like structure that stretches over seven hundred square meters, sitting directly atop the stone ramparts of the Otemon Gate. As a key part of the castle’s main entrance, it served as a final, heavily fortified stronghold designed to protect the gateway. Its L-shaped layout allowed defenders to maintain overlapping sightlines and fire matchlock guns from protected warrior corridors.
