Festival Hall is a towering concert venue in Nakanoshima, recognized by the long, sweeping red carpet that leads visitors through its high-ceilinged lobby. Originally opened in nineteen fifty-eight for the first Osaka International Festival, it earned a reputation as a temple of music, hosting performances that ranged from classical orchestral concerts to opera and rock. After fifty years of operation, the original building was closed in two thousand eight to make way for a modern skyscraper, the Nakanoshima Festival Tower.
