KattenKabinet (Cat Cabinet)

museum

The KattenKabinet occupies the first floor of a canal house at Herengracht four hundred ninety-seven. This building sits within the Golden Bend, a stretch of the canal historically occupied by the city elite. Built in sixteen sixty-seven for the Van Loon family, the structure served as a residence for figures such as the American diplomat John Adams. The interior spaces retain classical architectural details, including high ceilings and period wall treatments, which provide a setting for a collection of feline-themed art.
