Dajing Lane is defined by white-walled, black-tiled buildings and narrow stone paths that stand apart from the surrounding commercial districts. Its name, which translates to Big Well Lane, originates from the ancient well situated within the alley. Known as the First Well of Qiantang, this five-eye water source is believed to date back to the Wuyue period, more than one thousand years ago.
