The Church of Saint Anthony of Padua in Wrocław stands out for the stone statue of its patron saint mounted directly over the main entrance portal. This seventeenth-century Baroque structure was built between sixteen eighty-five and sixteen ninety-two under the direction of the architect Matthäus Biener. It was designed according to plans by an anonymous Italian architect to serve as a model for future Baroque churches across the region of Silesia.
