The Pawiak Prison Museum is marked by a low concrete building that sits directly upon the excavated, underground casemates of the original prison. You can identify the site by the bronze replica of an elm tree standing near the entrance, which replaces the historic tree where families of prisoners once nailed memorial plaques.
