Central Methodist Mission

The Central Methodist Mission sits on Greenmarket Square, recognizable by its tall spire and the high-Victorian Gothic Revival architecture that marks it as one of the oldest buildings on the square. Built between eighteen seventy-six and eighteen seventy-nine, the structure replaced earlier, smaller meeting spaces that Cape Town’s early Methodist community utilized in local haylofts and wine stores.
