You can identify the Atlas Trading Company by the simple green logo displayed on the pink exterior of the building on Wale Street. Established in nineteen forty-six, this family-owned shop is the oldest spice store in Cape Town. It began when the father of the current managing director, Wahab R. Ahmed, purchased the building from a previous owner. While the shop originally sold general groceries, the focus shifted over time to the extensive range of spices that now fill the space.
