Grove Street

Grove Street is defined by its collection of four-storey sandstone tenements, a hallmark of the rapid expansion that reshaped this area during the third quarter of the nineteenth century. While early maps from the eighteen-twenties once promised a grand residential square at its heart, that plan remained unfulfilled. Instead, the street became a dense corridor of workshops, coachworks, and homes built to accommodate the industrial growth of the Fountainbridge district.
