Allied Arts Guild

The Allied Arts Guild is marked by tree-shaded walls extending along Arbor Road, punctuated by gated entries that each feature a large, italicized monogram of two A's. This three-and-a-half-acre site houses a collection of Spanish Colonial style buildings, landscaped gardens, and working artist studios. Wealthy art patrons Delight and Garfield Merner established the complex in nineteen twenty-nine after purchasing the land from the former Jeff Murray farm. They collaborated with architect Gardner Dailey and artist Pedro de Lemos to create a center for craft production, intentionally preserving the original barn and farmhouse to integrate into their new vision.
