Vallejo Steps

park garden

The Vallejo Steps on Russian Hill are defined by a terraced landscape of gardens nestled between concrete paths. These stairs, designed in part by architect Willis Polk, were originally intended to replace a simple goat path on the steep hillside. Work on the transformation began in nineteen oh six, but the project was interrupted by the earthquake and fire of that same year, taking eight years to reach completion.
