The J. Edgar Hoover Building is a massive structure of buff-colored concrete defined by rows of bronze-tinted windows and evenly spaced circular indentations across its exterior. Designed in the brutalist style and completed in nineteen seventy-five, the building occupies a full city block along Pennsylvania Avenue. It served as the central headquarters for the Federal Bureau of Investigation for fifty years, housing thousands of employees within its two point eight million square feet of space.
