Lee's Bakery and Kitchen on North King Street is known throughout Honolulu for its custard pie. The shop occupies a compact, counter-service space in the Chinatown district where the baking begins long before sunrise. The owner, Mr. Lee, previously worked at the historic Deelite Bakery in the Kalihi neighborhood before opening his own shop in nineteen eighty-one.
