Utica Street is defined by a narrow, alley-like scale and dense rows of six-story red brick buildings, many of which retain traditional wrought iron fire escapes. Located in the Leather District, these structures date to the late nineteenth century, when the area operated as the city's primary hub for leather manufacturing and wholesale trade.
