Christopher Columbus Waterfront Park

Christopher Columbus Waterfront Park is defined by a long, wooden, arched trellis that runs through the green space, often draped in wisteria vines and illuminated by lights during the holiday season. Stretching four and a half acres along Boston Harbor, this area occupies land that was once part of a neglected industrial waterfront. The city developed the park in the mid-nineteen seventies as part of an effort to restore public access to the water, and it officially opened to the public in nineteen seventy-six, just in time for the bicentennial celebration of the American Revolution.
