The Roman Catholic Parish of St. John the Baptist is a small, neo-Gothic building constructed of light brown stone. It sits on Makhmud Koshgari Street, distinct from the surrounding architecture of the city. While the local Catholic minority, including Polish and German merchants, first sought permission to build a church in nineteen oh five, their request was denied at the time.
